Yes, a minimum free baggage allowance is granted to ZED and MIBA travellers. The free baggage allowance shall be either one piece (in case of piece concept) or 20 kilo. more

Fares - How are the ZED / MIBA fares calculated?

Fare calculation is determined by applying fixed prices per segment of a journey. For each individual ticket coupon one fare will be charged independent of the total routing. One coupon shall be issued for a non-stop flight. However, for a direct or a through flight with a stop, even without change of aircraft or flight number, the member may ask for two coupons to be issued. Flights with a change of aircraft or flight number will always request two coupons. See ZED and MIBA Guidelines. more

22.11.2011 Fares Filing - How do I file child fares?

For fares filing purposes, the child fares shall be filed as percentage (67%) discount of the adult fares. Thus, the child fares are no more calculated and distributed. Do not file the child fares as fixed amounts! more

Fares Filing - Must I file?

If you receive a request for fares filing from another Member, your airline must file the fares for such Member. According to the ZED / MIBA rules, fares filing is mandatory, thus, such a request cannot be rejected or ignored. more

22.11.2011 IATA travel – application of ZED general rules

In accordance with Service Level Agreement signed between ZED-MIBA Forum and IATA, IATA employees and their spouses and children up to 24 yearss of age are eligible for ZED ZH travel. When issuing such tickets, all general ZED rules shall be applied. I.e. the non-interlineable taxes / fees / charges (YQ, YR or Q) must not be collected, child discount shall be applied, minimum length of service (six months) cannot be altered etc. more

22.11.2011 If any change in the general ZED / MIBA rules is voted for by the Members, do I have to change all my bilateral concurrences?

No! If any change in the general rules (such as changes of definitions of current eligible persons categories etc.) are voted for by the Members, such changes are applicable to all your existing bilateral concurrences. more

22.11.2011 If my airline joins ZED / MIBA, does it mean that we can immediately issue ZED / MIBA tickets on all the current Members’ flights?

No! When an airline joins ZED-MIBA Forum, the Authorised Representative of the new Member has to individually contact the current Members in order to obtain bilateral concurrences. The new Member is not entitled to issue any ZED / MIBA tickets on other Member’s flights, unless there is a bilateral ZED / MIBA Concurrence in place with such Member(s). more

22.11.2011 Is the coupon valid only as ticketed, i.e. on the ticketed segment / transporting airline?

No, the coupons issued under the ZED and MIBA agreements shall be accepted without any endorsement also by any other ZED / MIBA partner or on a different segment, however, certain provisions must be fulfilled. For more details, see the following documents: more

Settlement - Does ISC (Interline Service Charge) apply to ZED / MIBA tickets?

Yes, unless bilaterally agreed otherwise. Most interline settlement departments prefer to have the same rules for ID tickets as for revenue tickets, so bilateral agreement may not be negotiable. Settlement will be in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Interline Traffic Agreement currently in effect between the parties. more

22.11.2011 When issuing MIBA tickets on self-ticketing basis, what shall be the fare basis - IDxxS1 or IDxxB1?

IDxxS1 as the key is the ticketing / employing airline. If the ticketing airline is at the same time the employing airline (i.e. the ticket is issued on selfticketing basis),  then the indicator must be “S“. If the ticketing airline is not the employing airline (i.e. your airline issues a ticket for another airline employee over your network), the indicator must be “B“. more
